THE OLD RECTORY
This was a beautiful property to work on, the oldest part dates back to the 17th Century and various extensions followed in the 19th and 21st Centuries.
Completely bespoke to the client
The client was largely traditional in taste to suit the age and character of the property but she had some delightful contemporary twists which we really enjoyed working to. A client who knew exactly what she wanted and a pleasure to work with.
The project included a delightful window between the landing and bathroom which we used a lightweight linen in white from ‘Volga Linen’ (Design: Ladder Stitch Rows) to create the perfect screen to provide privacy whilst still allowing the rooms to softly flow.
The client is an accomplished embroiderer and she has created some fabulous tapestries. Part of this commission was to create scatter cushions incorporating some of the client’s tapestries. A key part of what we love about what we do is how we fulfil a brief to ensure it is ultimately completely bespoke to the client and totally personalised to them and their character.
This project involved a beautiful property with all the stunning characteristics only older properties can give, however, more importantly it was a home which needed to reflect the people who live there and we strived to ensure we fulfilled this part of the brief we gave ourselves throughout.
